Dental Services
Our Treatment Philosophy is geared toward preventing future dental problems. We treat patients of all ages and we offer a broad range of treatment plans ranging from the most basic to the state of the art. Our comprehensive services include the following:
Dental Cleaning
Is performed by a registered dental hygienist and focuses on the removal of plaque, tarter (hardened plaque), and stains that have accumulated on the teeth. Even with routine brushing and flossing tarter can still develop. Most dentists recommend having your teeth professionally cleaned by a certified hygienist every 6 months. In-between your cleanings, good oral hygiene is important for the prevention of tarter buildup and gum disease.
Scaling and Root Planning
Basically, a deep cleaning below the gums, typically used to remove hardened plaque under the gums and/or treat gum disease.
Crowns and Bridges
A dental crown is a tooth shaped cover or cap that is placed over a tooth to cover the tooth to restore its shape, size, strength, and improve its appearance. You may need a crown if you have a cavity that is too large for a filling, a cracked tooth, if you have had a root canal, or if you want to cover a discolored or badly shaped tooth to improve your smile.
A dental bridge literally bridges the gap created by one or more missing teeth. A bridge is made up of two or more crowns on teeth on either side of the gap. These two or more anchoring teeth are called abutment teeth with a false tooth/teeth in between. Dental bridges are supported by natural teeth or implants.
Dentures and Partial Dentures
Full dentures are a custom-made set of replacement teeth for a lower arch, upper arch, or both when a patient has lost all or has all their teeth removed. A partial denture is a removable, yet natural looking dental appliance that replaces some of the teeth and is supported by remaining teeth. Both help restore form and function of your mouth.
Dental Implants
A replacement tooth root. After implant placement an artificial tooth (crown) is placed on an extension of the post on the implant that will give you the look of a real tooth.
Root Canal Therapy
Root Canal Therapy or Treatment is indicated when the pulp of a tooth becomes infected or injured. When one has a ‘root canal’, the inflamed or infected pulp is removed and the inside of the tooth is carefully cleaned and disinfected, then filled and sealed.
Sealants
Material that is put on the chewing surface of the back teeth to fill deep pits and grooves and act as a barrier, protecting the teeth from cavities by “sealing out” bacteria and bits of food.
Extraction
The removal of an unhealthy tooth or teeth.
Veneers
A thin covering of the facial surface of a tooth, usually constructed of tooth colored material used to restore the looks of discolored, damaged, misshapen, or misaligned teeth.
Fillings/Restorations
A Filling or a Restoration is a treatment used to restore the function and integrity of missing tooth structure resulting from cavities or trauma.
